I'm new to FreeBSD, but have been a long time into Linux. I don't know
if mplayer has been ported to FreeBSD. If it has, I suggest you check it
out because it lets you play all types of video format except for .mov
and it supports a great deal of outputs, for example svga or vesa which
means you DON'T need X :)
