I am not a hundred percent sure, but isn't there something to do with 
file system type from the disk label, and I am pretty sure FreeBSD 
and Linux have different file system types for their respective swap 
areas, and partitions for that matter.

I'll say that I haven't tried this and could be talking out of my a**
