Actually, they define them in the perfectly ordinary SI fashion: 10**6, 10**9, and 10**12, respectively. Of course, this is very inconvenient since it is not an even multiple of an allocation unit. (The ``10.2 GB'' drive I wasted four hours trying to get sysinstall to speak to today actually has 19,923,120 sectors, which factorizes as (2**3)(3**2)(5)(7)(59)(67) -- a pretty odd size, if you ask me!
