Dear Sir/Lady,

I bought a book called Free BSD Unleashed.
With it came a cdrom containing disc 1 of Free BSD 4.4
During installation I ran into a partition problem.
According to Partition Magic my disk looks like this:

In short,my extended partion houses 2 boot partitions,Windows D ,and two
operating systems (Debian,SuSe).
There is space for a BSD boot partition/1st slice(23,5 Mb) and a root
partition/2nd slice
(Free space 7+Gb)

But the BSD FDISK Partition Editor shows this:

Offset Size
End name Ptype

63 6152832 6152894

ad0s2 4 extended 15

80405325 12915 80418239
- 6 unused

It seems I cannot enter the extended partition slice, and it is there
that I would like to install BSD ,of course without disturbing my
current configuration.
As an extremely fresh newbie I apologize beforehand for asking a silly
question and I thank you for your time .
Getting an answer , though , would help me on my road in search for an
operating system that suits me.

Bij voorbaat dank,

Arnout Bruinsma
