The official date for 4.5 is 1/20/02. Stable appears at the same time
(or maybe a few minutes later when the name change is committed. 

In reality, releases are simply snapshots of the RELENG_4 branch. A
RELEASE tag is created and that is it. From the moment the first
commit is made after the RELEASE is tagged, the name will show up as
4.5-STABLE, but it is really continued development on the RELENG_4
branch of FreeBSD.
