The text there tells to use WITH_CTF=1 for the buildkernel, but the example does not use it (it should for 8.x, it shouldn't need to for an approriate rev. of 9-current). The text that it will not work in make.conf/src.conf is valid for 8.x, but not (at least it shouldn't) for an appropriate versions of 9-current.
