Hi!
I have a soundcard which is (it claims) a Creative SB AWE64 PnP card. It
works OK under Windows 95.
The DOS Soundblaster utility sets the BLASTER environment variable to:
A220 I5 D1 H5 P330 E620 T6
I am running FreeBSD 3.0-980520-SNAP. I can't get the card to work under
FreeBSD. (I am assuming that it's not a problem with this particular
SNAP.)
(I also have an internal modem, which I think is PnP, a CD-ROM drive, and
a 3COM 3c905TX ethernet card. I haven't tried using the modem under
FreeBSD, but it does work under Windows.)
I get the following messages on system startup:
sb_reset_dsp failed

I have tried changing some of these lines as suggested by the Handbook
(etc.), but nothing helps.
I have done a /dev/MAKEDEV snd0, although I don't know whether that
matters at this point.
What am I doing wrong?
Attached is the pnpinfo listing.
If you need any more information (in particular the full dmesg listing or
kernel file) I can supply them.
