On the machine I usually burn CDs on, ahc0: <Adaptec aic7880 Ultra SCSI adapter> rev 0x01 int a irq 9 on pci0.13.0 ahc0: aic7880 Wide Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 16/255 SCBs . . . cd0 at ahc0 bus 0 target 2 lun 0 cd0: <HP CD-Writer 6020 1.07> Removable CD-ROM SCSI-2 device cd0: 3.300MB/s transfers cd0: Attempt to query device size failed: NOT READY, Logical unit not ready, cause not reportable And I get the following, # cdrecord -scanbus Cdrecord release 1.8a22 Copyright (C) 1995-1999 Jörg Schilling scsibus0: 0) * 1) * 2) 'HP ' 'CD-Writer 6020 ' '1.07' Removable CD-ROM 3) * 4) 'iomega ' 'jaz 2GB ' 'E.15' Removable Disk 5) * 6) * 7) * Note that cdrecord version change _fast_. I just looked and I see we at least to 1.8a29. I had a look at the source... non-trivial matter to figure out what device it is trying to open. It would be nice if the error output actually said. Maybe hack the source to get that output. -- Crist J. Clark cjclark@home.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
