Have you tried > the x11/nvidia-driver? The problem with "Optimus" is that it has both Intel video and a third-party graphics adapter. There may be a BIOS option to disable one of the two; otherwise, these do not work with FreeBSD as far as I know. One option in that case would be to run FreeBSD in a VM.
