Cool, I managed to get my usb board up and running. the problem was kbdcontrol or me 8) I try to switch keyboards "at" -> "usb" however I needed an at keboard to make the switch so I attached an at keyboard to my system and issue the silly command: kbdcontrol -k /dev/kbd1 The last time I tried to set the usb keyboard as the default the system crash hard perhaps this time around it will work.
