Regarding other improvements in -current: The packages use shared libraries, so you should get the benefits of those improvements simply by running the program on a -current system. > Could somebody put -current version there? But my -current machine usually isn't adequately up to date for building packages that are going to be publicly released. Even when I've done a make world, it still has X libraries (for example) which are somewhat old.
