--nFreZHaLTZJo0R7j Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hello, I'm looking for a disk organization, volume-management feature in freebsd, something like LVM-like in a kind of way. Currently on our linux boxes we are using LVM to organize the disks under our content-drives. This means, we allocate a we-think-it-will-be-enough space for a service from a storage pool for each service on the actual box, and if later on the givenm space turns out not to be enough, we increase that amount and grow the FS on it. I'm looking for a similar feature in FreeBSD, where i can allocate disk space for my proposes, not using up all of the available space, and later on be able to increase the size of any previously allocated "chunk". First i've tried gvinum on a 6.2-STABLE box, but as i found out it cannot do the job. Or it was just that underdocumented that i wasn't able to do it with gvinum My question is, where should i start looking for a feature like this? Bye, Gergely Czuczy mailto: gergely.czuczy@harmless.hu --=20 Weenies test. Geniuses solve problems that arise. --nFreZHaLTZJo0R7j Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (FreeBSD) owFtVD1sVEcQdiA0iyjcpUIjJHDB7Yt9gIWNwGAbO4mMUtgCJKp97829t9y+3WN/ zj6LispIIEWOIkWJpSB6JCJBQUVDTUVHQwcdoqCiYXbvziBEc7rdnfnm+76ZeX8c OThxYPLl4yc3Tt7b/feHRz/u5Seb4L2ueCNsX2o+Mz09w8+cbtPvKX5azJyaLmeL dvvM2fbc3NzKTx/fLhntUXu+MejhPHjc8j/3lJD6HBS1sA79+eA7/Cwbxy1L1zNO emn0PEitpMb9tw0rtOug5Zd1YUqpq3m4FYzHkves1F7kChn7BZUyLcZ+nWpAGdOl MOgYCwJK6bpgbCW03BaxQAv6RoUGSYwWFTZUg3VQ+GCRSkPHIuaubIEzDfo6AinZ RVi7eoWnPxQjgAqUYDqwKQYZWwrWEooagNFggqUEHbYgN1voYBNBEHJwEYlAwJsx HWS+xkTQQdAl2pRcjHSXVvbRZbBRSwcNkgmtBEZCC+GRCTrxSLDLpeebUimeI0dt QlWD64kCRw44pKbFkzVNPHpjSTfrGaNSBIqi3g8iBZGUKHwQKkpogSCpsgOKitrR O6uIm25GZcg67Yi7B2181JcjDHkkxlIXFoWjuFp4EI0J5HgErazZTNVW1iOu9Nl3 +udkI5Ww8FWLVqhFi+vLBF5jvIFC6C++pIZ/0d8MoGcNTReSf5HfsBOhFzNiC5Pc vqAiNEnDxFaity+Y5KQ3UvaVFoqlFkYEoWMN7EsTnBqwMZMSjhV10N1jGVuR1nmQ U31KtJJeKlqj0ERwAbNZm69vXFpcuzz0OycjhSNZHXKqTL5Kz0hjZF+aVPqmyTP4 3dIDjaCDm4Hgk71pjkpThDjXVChdyhikp8j1kQxCiZnS1yMmjF0Z0FqhixsC0o29 dbUJitpPUyOs/6Y145aktaBJdAuMLQ7IPbaKtkLah6XtUGwPWEPuejMP1fA6K9L1 RfoUNAqdy+rAGOfn29PsGqKWtDWemGSwSodAjaNdVGQd9ZH4N240SFY6zNjOwsFD E/GbM/5gTR7I3kw8+P/6hZ2/n356/tuJu//cv7OwW+UPL078t/z+2YfDR1/tftz7 8/bai3f2r9njrz8D =EtCx -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nFreZHaLTZJo0R7j--
