Hello,
I have a
Pentium III 450Mhz,
128 RAM,
256 Swap (one partition),
7.7 gigs IDE mounted on /
AOpen PG128 with 4megs of ram.

I actually managed to get a standard VGA 8bit server going. but the problem=
=20
is that it is soooo slow. It takes over 30 minutes for the KDE interface to=
=20
come up! And once it is up, any move of the mouse takes about 2 minutes to=
=20
process.
I did a telnet from a remote PC and ran TOP from the prompt. this is what I=
 got

last pid: 470; load=20
averages: 0.80, 0.53, 0.41 up=20
0+01:18:52 22:02:24
46 processes: 2 running, 43 sleeping, 1 zombie
CPU states: 100.0% user, 0.0% nice, 0.0% system, 0.0% interrupt, 0.0%=
 idle
Mem: 13M Active, 24M Inact, 15M Wired, 8351K Buf, 71M Free
Swap: 256M Total, 256M Free

PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME WCPU CPU COMMAND
   395 root 102 0 7536K 6508K RUN 16:31 97.90% 97.90% XF86_SVGA
   400 root 2 0 4600K 3816K select 0:02 0.00% 0.00% kwm

The swap is not being used AT ALL!
what's wrong?

thanks
Marcelo
