Old binaries should continue to work fine if you install the 3.x
compatibility libraries at install-time (that's what they're there for).

ipfw will be kldload'ed at runtime by the boot scripts if you have it
enabled in /etc/rc.conf and ipfw doesn't exist in your kernel
configuration.
