I have a problem with my new PC. This is its configuration: - processor: AMD ATHLON 800 Mhz Thunderbird - motherboard: ASUS A7v Apollo kt133 ata100 - HD: IBM EIDE DTLA 307030 ata100 The software for the installation of FreeBSD4.4 (& also of Linux RedHat 7.0) doesn't recognize my hard-disk, that is correctly = connected. The HD is on the bus ata100. I don't have others HDs but only a CD-ROM = drive on the bus ata66. I didn't have any problems with the installation of Windows ME, but with = the installation of Windows 2000 yes. So, during the installation of W2000, I had to stop it (key F6) and I = had to install some Promise drivers that I found on this page: http://www.asus.com.tw/products/motherboard/driver_ide.html . Now, what do I have to do for installing Linux? Is there some driver for Linux and how can I install it? I hope you'll help me. Thanks claudio ------=_NextPart_000_0059_01C06886.8F08D140 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-1" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META content=3D"MSHTML 5.00.2014.210" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2><FONT face=3DArial = size=3D2>Hello,<BR>I'm Claudio from=20 Pisa (Italy).<BR>I have a problem with my new PC.<BR><BR>This is its=20 configuration:<BR>- processor: AMD ATHLON 800 Mhz Thunderbird<BR>- = motherboard:=20 ASUS A7v Apollo kt133 ata100<BR>- HD: IBM EIDE DTLA 307030 = ata100<BR><BR>The=20 software for the installation of FreeBSD4.4 (& also of<BR>Linux = RedHat 7.0)=20 doesn't recognize my hard-disk, that is correctly = connected.<BR><BR>The HD=20 is on the bus ata100.
