I just send-pr'd (with patch) the last bit of the handbook section on X fonts, which says anti-aliased fonts are not possible (since they now are). I'm thinking of contributing a small handbook section on configuring and setting up a complete KDE-based desktop, including kdm instead of xdm. Is there anyone else already writing up something like this? I thought of covering: installing qt, kde2 from the ports the startkde script overview of the programs included in kde2 configuring kdm: editing the /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/ files to make them work with kdm, etc. setting up anti-aliased fonts. Anything else that should go in there? (Disclaimer: I'm doing kde because I know it moderately well now, it doesn't mean I dislike gnome or blackbox or whatever. I also think the handbook should have a few small sections on other WM's or desktop environments; but having one, at least, is I think a good start for newbies.) Thanks Rahul.
