I wonder if the two could be combined...  First set SUBDIR's to values
determined from MODULES_LIST's, and then do a for loop through the final
SUBDIR value, checking for a NO_KMOD_xxx..  But maybe that would be too
complicated an interface for something that is going away soon, if committed
at all :(
