But then I was told that Courier-IMAP is not very standards-compliant IMAP implementation and tried Dovecot (mail/dovecot) instead. It turned out that Courier was the one to blame. With Dovecot Thunderbird was showing mail like it should. FWIW, I don't have any problems with it in mutt+imap either. -Radek
