To you and everyone who replied! You all were most helpful. I'm sure I killed it. I've been using the Xinside's AcceleratedX server and didn't immediately realize the mouse device name had changed from 2.1.5 and was a little hasty in my upgrade. ( That'll teach me!! ) An X session stole my console and I had to power-off with out shutting down. I wonder tho' if it wouldn't be wise to include a clean-up of this sort in /etc/rc, or rc.local ???
