I'm guessing here, but it sounds like a problem one of our clients had
when "MOVING" his site to our service.  He had put in hard values for his
DNS servers, and his former provider still had DNS configured to resolve
his domain.

Change DNS configuration on the client's machine fixed the problem (after
a reboot of course).
