Synopsis: Problem while installing java for FreeBSD 4.9 State-Changed-From-To: open->closed State-Changed-By: linimon State-Changed-When: Tue Aug 12 07:42:28 UTC 2008 State-Changed-Why: Sorry, this isn't supported. Both FreeBSD 4 and FreeBSD 5 have reached end-of-life with respect to ports support. Many people are reporting good success with FreeBSD 7.0; if you are more conservative, you might wish to try installing 6.3 instead. At this point there are so many differences between what you have installed, and the modern variant of the Ports Collection, that you are probably in best shape if you do a reinstall from scratch. (Otherwise, you are going to need to upgrade source to RELENG4_EOL, 5.3, RELENG_5, and then to 6.X; I don't think anyone has done this for a while).
