this is not much of a problem for audio, although it is obviously
harder to support multiple version of the os and especially for areas
where the diffs are larger..

as far as audio is concerned, the differences between 2.2.x and 3.x are
minimal, and just refer to the poll/select change. both my drivers,
and your guspnp (at least, last time i tried, a few months ago),
work almost unmodified on both systems.
