The mailservers on an intranet should never be allowed to send mail directly
to the internet through the firewall.  Instead they should be setup to send
mail to a mail hub (either on the firewall/another system).  The mail hub
would then have its name in the public DNS.

NOTE: It would also be the only system that would receive mail from the
internet.
