Things are : getting messier and messier for 4->5 "support". Doesn't look too complex to me. Core ruled a while ago that the 4->5/HEAD stuff that ru@ is doing is OK. Please resepect that decision and don't complain. We all know that when the branch comes lots of these hacks will go away and we also know that more hacks will be needed. Since the branch is less than 4 months away, it just isn't worth fighting over, and if it gets escalated to core@ or trb@ chances are good you'll be told the same thing, like you were last time this came up.
