I'm not sure whether I understand the problem correctly, but when I type
'helpdesk' at the command prompt, netscape starts with the html
helpdesk. So for me it appears to be working.
I am using Matlab 5.3 (R11) on 4.0-RELEASE (but it also worked on 3.4).
I modified the first line of the 'matlab' script to
#!/compat/linux/bin/sh.
