All that I want to do is possible with commands on the 1542 and since
the 174X can emulate a 154X when it's in "standard" mode, I'm hoping
that there are similar commands in enhanced mode.

The last time I asked the Adaptec folks, they said it was out of print
and that, at least in the technical marketing department, they didn't
have any manuals they could copy for me.  I'll try again.
