Problem solved.  Turns out that legacy USB support had to be turned
off in the BIOS.  In fact I am happy to report that my Daisy camera
and SimpleTech FlashLink UCF-100 CF card reader, both of which did not
work on the RELEASE versions, work find in CURRENT on this machine.
