Based on your suggestion, I tried to kill gnome-session-failed. However, after I killed the process, I was forced to log out and GDM log-in screen showed. I executed '/usr/local/libexec/gnome-setting-daemon-localeexec &' and obtained 'Unable to initialize GTK+'. I used 'fresh' installation with FreeBSD 10.2; then, used 'pkg install xorg gnome3'. For my lenovo x200 (an embedded Intel video chip), FreeBSD 10.2 and Gnome 3.16 worked fine.
