Thank you all who took time to reply! The problem really seems to be one of the (or maybe even both, even the LinkSys!) NICs in the FreeBSD machines. No wonder, the RealTek card is a cheap piece of crap (around EUR 6), I am going to replace it with something more reliable. Any recommendations? Is there a card with Really Good(TM) driver implementation for FreeBSD? Anything one would use in a production server (we use 3com cards almost exclusively at work, although mostly in Linux servers)? Anyway, thanks for all the input, I really appreciate it! Andreas -- Andreas "daff" Ntaflos | "A cynic is a man who knows the price of daff AT dword DOT org | everything, and the value of nothing."
