Hi, the port isnt really what I want either... it installs over the default
install for some reason and doesn't work quite right...
I will probably go back to what i used to do which I know works, which is
install my own sendmail from sendmail.org in the /usr/local directory...
does anyone know if there is any problem with this(installing the regular
sendmail)? is there any way to de-install the default bsd sendmail?

Look in: /usr/ports/mail/sendmail
