Hmmm ..... well where did I find the info about making it work with
POP3 ?? .... actually its just a matter of editing the inbox line in
pinerc
to read  "inbox-path={<pop3_server/pop3/user=<username>}inbox"

I wouldn't have invented that myself so presumably I discovered it
somewhere
and I'd swear it was in the official pine FAQ
