https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=280692 Bug ID: 280692 Summary: FreeBSD stable/14 boot loader: "failed to add font: /boot/fonts/11x22.fnt" Product: Base System Version: Unspecified Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: misc Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: d8zNeCFG@aon.at Scenario: - FreeBSD stable/14 - Upgraded from 644d81447118 to ae5a33717273 (plus minor patches for each) - Rebooting Result: - Very briefly, before showing the FreeBSD boot menu, many messages scroll by, of the form "failed to add font: /boot/font/11x22.fnt", with all kinds of different sizes shown on many consecutive lines. - This could only be observed clearly by taking a 25fps video of a system running under VirtualBox and single-stepping through the frames. - On all machines (also physical ones) I installed this new release, one can very briefly see messages previously unseen before the boot menu appears; most likely they are always about not finding these fonts, but it is too fast to be sure. - There are no such font files in /boot/font. - Apart from these messages there do not seem to be adverse effects. Expected result: - The boot should be nice and tidy like before. -- Martin -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.help
