BTW - I tried the FreeBSD handbook for adding a second drive, and using the command-line way, i.e. dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/ad1 block=1k count=1, I keep getting: dd: /dev/ad1: Operation not permitted But if I do a fdisk /dev/ad1, all the info is there. I can't even do a mount. I get the Operation not permitted error. I don't understand why. dmesg.boot shows: ata0-master: DMA limited to UDMA33, non-ATA66 compliant cable ad0: 4125MB <FUJITSU MPD3043AT> [8940/15/63] at ata0-master UDMA33 ad1: 3098MB <IBM-DAQA-33240> [6296/16/63] at ata0-slave WDMA2 Mounting root from ufs:/dev/ad0s1a Thanks in advance, Danny To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
