I'm new to FreeBSD and just installed 4.1.1 RELEASE.
I want to use IP Filter and noticed :
rose# ipf -V
ipf: IP Filter: v3.4.8 (264)
open device: Device not configured
ioctl(SIOCGETFS: Bad file descriptor
The install docs for 3.4.10 mention building a loadable module or a
statically compiled kernel. What's the benefit of either for this
application?
It also mentions using "modload" and "modstat" but I can't find either
on my system.
I tried a 'make freebsd' and got:
In file included from /usr/include/sys/signal.h:46,
from /usr/include/sys/proc.h:50,
from ../../netinet/ip_compat.h:481,
from ../../ip_fil.c:100:
/usr/include/sys/_posix.h:45: opt_posix.h: No such file or directory
*** Error code 1
Stop in /usr/local/build/ip_fil3.4.10/BSD/FreeBSD-4.1.1-RELEASE-i386.
*** Error code 1
Any help?
Thanks.
