erm, i wasn't sure where to post this so here will have to, sorry if i
am wrong, please don't flame me!!
ok, my problem:
when i want to install somthing from the ports collection i mount the cd
with:
mount /cdrom (somtimes this works but not properly)
then i move to the directory
cd /usr/ports/x11/kde2
then: make
i get a huge list of ftp sites that i didn't connect to. i assume that the
cd drive wasn't mounted ?? other times when i try to mount the cd i get
messeges like: cd9660:device busy or I/O error.
when i put he cd into the drive it automatically starts spinning and makes
loads of noise, is that it being mounted?? i looked at the partition info,
it says:
device: /dev/acd0c
mount point: /cdrom
fs type: cd9660
mount options: ro,noauto
i have come to the conclusion that my cd drive is messed up or unsupported
(it seemed to work fine when i had freebsd 4.0)
can anyone help/tell me what to do to sort it??
many thanks!!!!
joe
