Hi,

Just my 0.02c. If you only do backups of data on the NT box then
running the backup on a Unix box might work. If you have to backup
the NT OS and registry as well you have to do it from NT or have a NT
agent that can stream to a Unix backup server. 

What backup software are you using to do the backups with? I know that
Veritas BackExec has an agent for Linux which you might be able to run
on FreeBSD using Linux emulation. With everybody piling on the Linux
bandwagon these days, there might be quite a few vendors that have at
least an agent for it.
