I've received the Christmas gift of the BMW CD "Teilekatalog fuer historische Fahrzeuge" (parts catalog for historical vehicles). In addition to Windows 95 it has two flavors of SCO binaries (but no documentation): "sc3" and "sc5". I'm trying to determine if I can get a personal use version of SCO and use these, and if so which I should get. When I run SC5 under the emulator I see: rt# ktrace ./etk etk version from Apr 7 1998 before Cobra init Error in cobra-init (possible CD-Error) rt# kdump -f ktrace.out | more 5123 ktrace RET ktrace 0 5123 ktrace CALL execve(0xefbfd60f,0xefbfd550,0xefbfd558) 5123 ktrace NAMI "./etk" 5123 etk RET execve 0 5123 etk CALL setlogin(0x72,0x4d3eb0) 5123 etk RET setlogin -1 errno 22 Invalid argument 5123 etk CALL ioctl(0x1,0x5401 ,0xefbfd32a) 5123 etk RET ioctl 0 5123 etk CALL break(0x4d51e8) 5123 etk RET break 0 5123 etk CALL write(0x1,0x4d41ec,0x1d) 5123 etk GIO fd 1 wrote 29 bytes "etk version from Apr 7 1998 " 5123 etk RET write 29/0x1d 5123 etk CALL write(0x1,0x4d41ec,0x12) 5123 etk GIO fd 1 wrote 18 bytes "before Cobra init " 5123 etk RET write 18/0x12 5123 etk CALL write(0x1,0x4d41ec,0x28) 5123 etk GIO fd 1 wrote 40 bytes "Error in cobra-init (possible CD-Error) " 5123 etk RET write 40/0x28 5123 etk CALL exit(0xfe) rt# And from SC3 I see: rt# ktrace ./etk Abort trap rt# kdump -f ktrace.out | more 5134 ktrace RET ktrace 0 5134 ktrace CALL execve(0xefbfd60f,0xefbfd550,0xefbfd558) 5134 ktrace NAMI "./etk" 5134 ktrace NAMI "/compat/ibcs2/shlib/libX11R5_s" 5134 ktrace NAMI "/shlib/libX11R5_s" rt# Based on this can someone suggest which of the SCO CDS I should get to get the libraries I need (at http://www.sco.com/offers ) to run this: SCO OpenServer, SCO OpenServer5.05, or SCO UnixWare. I'm guessing I want 5.05 to run "sc5" but perhaps someone can tell me if I'm wasting my time.
