What Dan posted is correct for 3 button serial mouse.
If you have 2 button mouse add this statement to what Dan posted for
rc.conf
moused_flags="-m 2=3" # config for 2 button mouse
If you have USB mouse I have info on how to set that up also.

Put these in /etc/rc.conf:
moused_enable="YES" # Run the mouse daemon.
moused_type="auto" # See man page for rc.conf(5) for available
settings.
moused_port="/dev/psm0" # Set to your mouse port.
allscreens_flags="-m on" # Enable mouse for all virtual screens
and reboot.
Left button selects, middle pastes, right adjusts an existing
seelction.
