Thanks everyone. Code cutting is under way. The database is lean, and has cache tables for statistics, to save select count(*) on group by's, meaning it shouldn't put much load on any server. If anyone has suggestions on other things it should store, drop me a line: Things so far: Users(email and passwd auth, geographic info) Machine(Only registrar can update. Geographic info) Machine Tasks(Huge list of what it's doing) There is more, but to save bandwidth, I'll only post the schema to those who want to see it. Thanks for the Encouragement!! Try it out. Get something running, however crude and ugly you may think it is. A working proof-of- concept is worth far more than any long description. Your support will come from your users. Make your ideas widely known, have something to show them, and they'll come. If everyone waited for official sanction, nothing would ever happen. <blatant act of ego-self-inflation> FWIW, none of FreshPorts, FreshSource, and The FreeBSD Diary received any type of "official sanction" before they were started. <blatant act of ego-self-inflation> -- Dan Langille : http://www.langille.org/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-advocacy" in the body of the message
