morning all ... Well, I swear I have to be missing something here that is going to make me slap my forehead, but I can't get into single user mode :( I hit the space bar, type in 'boot -s' and it goes through all the normal start up procedures, sets up the networking, etc ... The reason I'm trying to get into single user mode is cause I can't get into multi-user without it doing: ================= Recovering vi editor sessions mode = 0100600, inum = 729, fs = /tmp panic: ffs_valloc: dup alloc cpuid = 0; lapic.id = 00000000 Debugger("panic") CPU0 stopping CPUs: 0x00000002... stopped and a trace of: Debugger() @ +0x38 panic() @ +0xa0 ffs_valloc() @ +0xf5 ufs_makeinode() @ +0x5a ufs_create() @ +0x28 ufs_vnoperate() @ +0x15 Marc G.
