I just installed matlab version 6.1.0.450 (R12.1) and have a similar problem to Shiro. I don't get any warning about /dev/ptmx, but I DO get the following in /var/log/messages, and I am also unable to quit (like Shiro). Other than these symptoms, matlab seems to work fine. Aug 8 16:30:23 heron /kernel: linux: 'ioctl' fd=4, cmd=1 ('',1) not implemented Aug 8 16:30:23 heron /kernel: linux: 'ioctl' fd=4, cmd=1 ('',1) not implemented Aug 8 16:30:23 heron /kernel: linux: 'ioctl' fd=4, cmd=540e ('T',14) not implemented I am running FreeBSD 4.3-Release. First... is anyone else able to successfully quit matlab?
