The following reply was made to PR i386/4951; it has been noted by GNATS. From: "Jin Guojun[ITG]" <jin@george.lbl.gov> To: freebsd-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.ORG, nate@mnsi.net Cc: Subject: Re: i386/4951: keyboard adapeters will not allow installation to work Date: Wed, 5 Nov 1997 10:32:20 -0800 :>Description: :when installing FreeBSd, I found that no matter what computer i tried it on, you : cannot use keyboard adapters, they are fine after installation, just do not go :over well durring. By adapters, i mean, like ps2_>full din, and vise-versa : :>How-To-Repeat: :try installing freebsd with a keyboard adapter being used, my case, it was a ps2 : keyboard, with a full-din socket on the MB I have an ATX box which is using PS2 mouse and keyboard, but I only have regular PC mouse and keyboard. I use adapter for both mouse and keyboard, and everything works fine. The motherboard I have is ASUS KN-97-X for Pentinum-II. You need to provide more information when you submit a bug report. By guessing, you may have a ATX motherboard, which uses PS2 input device connectors. Or, you have regular motherboard and try to use PS2 mouse and keyboard? You state that "like ps2_>full din, and vise-versa" and sound like you tried both, which is not very true case. -Jin
