J> Thanks ! man rc In summary you add scripts to /usr/local/etc/rc.d/ that accept at least the arguments 'start' and 'stop'. BTW, most ports where it makes sense to start a daemon (e.g. apache, mod_perl, setiathome) will put a script in /usr/local/etc/rc.d/ for you.
