Modern jail configuration style assumes usage of jail.conf file and jail.conf(5) manual page documents it: A jail definition with a name of "*" is used to define wildcard parameters. The jls utility lists all active jails (from its manual). jail -e exhibits all configured jails, no matter active (running) or not.
