You could edit: /usr/src/lib/libc/net/res_comp.c and look for the line that says: #define hyphenchar(c) ((c) == 0x2d) and replace that with: #define hyphenchar(c) ((c) == 0x2d || (c) == 0x5f) Then recompile and install libc cd /usr/src/lib/libc && make depend && make && make install David.
