Hi there, hope someone can help me out in a minor foray into some coding. I've got a non-working Freecom 250GB Classic HD (USB!), it's basically a plain IDE drive and a small board with the PL2507 USB<->IDE bridge on. (In a cheap black plastic box with the mandatory blue led stuck on the front.) However FreeBSD fails to attach it on all counts, I've got a usb sniffer, the source (and I've managed to get as far as having the thing probe and ID "correctly") but it always fails to start an endpoint with error 6 / IOERROR and doesn't attach properly. (That's after twiddling with the device options and forcing ATAPI rather than say SCSI or BBB or whatever the other choices are hardcoded into umass.) Apparently these devices work fine in "Linux" [*], and it's fine on Windows as well for which I have usbsniff installed, and can hotplug between windows and a freebsd box quite easily, but I'm still not getting my endpoints setup. Before anyone mentions it, I'm just rebuilding after a cvsup of RELENG_6 from last night - if that's not new enough and someone has already or recently done this work then please let me know. Thanks in advance for any help, Steve Roome P.S. I'm fully aware that this piece of hardware may not conform 100% to the spec! [*] google told me that some folks have them working somewhere. ----------------------------------------- Egg is a trading name of the Egg group of companies which includes: Egg plc (reg no 2448340), Egg Financial Intermediation Ltd (reg no 3828289), and Egg Banking plc (reg no 2999842).
