hi justin we've recently installed freebsd on our PCs equipped with AHA-2940UW and Western Digital scsi drives (WDE4360-1807A3 1.80), and found that it's performance is very slow (120Kbyte/s vs 4Mbyte/s) compared to our seagate drives. the only sign of trouble is that FreeBSD complains of "Sending SDTR" while booting up. i've checked the freebsd-scsi archive for info on the SDTR msg, and found your explanation (basically it's a diagnostic msg). do you (or any other folks on the mailing list) have any idea why our western digital drives perform so poorly? thanks wee teck To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-scsi" in the body of the message
