As you saw, yes.

The computer field is still young enough that most of the pioneers are
still alive and working. As with any community, there have been some
deaths among them, but I can only recall one (Lyons) that wasn't
generally regarded as tragically early.

Having said that, I'm sure there are some I've forgotten and shouldn't
have. I have no intention of slighting anyone.
