Sorry about the long wait for this reply, my life has been a bit busy. But yes, please, SGML will be very nice as I think these fixes could be really useful. VINUM itself, IIRC, is no longer supported with the 6.X and 7.X versions. There is a gvinum, though, and I see no sign of it going away, nor a hint or whisper about it being removed.
