Hi, I found this thing and I do not know if it is a bug. If I mount an usb hd device (for example mount it under /mnt/floppy) then: cat /dev/zero > /mnt/floppy/yy.img (but it could be any other write operation on the device) now *without* waiting for that command to finish I remove (unplug) the usb device and do something else (for example I open another console with Ctrl+Alt+F2) I get a page fault error. (and computer is frozen) Ok, before you start think I am mad... I found this in a blackout (my usb hd switched off and my laptop no) I am sorry for my english, I hope this mail is understandable. Luca PS: I run a freebsd 7 prerelease updated yesterday with cvsup. my /etc/make.conf file is empty, so no strange CFLAGS.
